On board Air Notes

"The Sanden unit is a compact rotary air conditioning compressor with 4
mounting ears at each end. Very often it may have a different names on
the housing, such as Sankyo. I have found them at several bone yards.
One is Colorado Auto off South Santa Fe/Oxford. They usually cost
about $30.00 which includes the mounting bracket. They are typically
found in a Subaru, but I have also found them in Saabs, Jeep Eagle and
some small Chrysler cars. They look very similar to the A/c unit found
on Toyotas. The difference being the Toyota unit doesn't have the fill
plug for adding a small amount of oil in the side of the housing. You
must select a unit with a fill plug. You will have to modify the
existing bracket or fabricate your own mounting bracket for your
application.

They put out very high pressure, so you will need a regulator to step
down the pressure to 100 psi.
My experience is they will inflate tires as fast a shop air. It takes
about 2-3 seconds per pound when re-inflating my 35's.

Over the years I has bought about a dozen of them. If you have a fax I
would be glad to send you a copy of what they look like. I like to pull
the supply from the base of the carb or throttle body a cleaner
housing. The regulator (Square-D) and oil separator (Optional) can be
purchased at any hardware store."
